OUR Story
The story of B•A-G begins in the eighties, when Beatrix Anton-Grönemeyer was studying law in Saarbrücken, Germany. A few scraps of leather fell into her hands from which she created her first handbag.
Between 1987 and 1993 Beatrix’s bags became a success story without any marketing. Already during her second participation at a leather fair in 1989 one of her newly designed bags was selected by the German leather museum ‘Deutsches Ledermuseum’ as best representation of trend during that year. Consequently, this bag ended up being permanently displayed in the museum. Unsurprisingly, her bags found their way into various editorials of leading fashion magazines in Germany.
But before B•A-G could advance to the next level, life took a different path. Beatrix became mother, cared for her family and managed to have an extraordinary career in the finance industry. Years have gone by until her daughter found one of the original bags during a visit to their family home. Her design is timeless and unique and sparked something in her: “Mom, you have to start again.” Awoken from the 20-year slumber B•A-G was reestablished in 2019.
